SACRED Background

Sacred ever since its inception in 1994 has been marching ahead with renewed spirits to bring in substantial changes in the quality of life of persons with disability (PWD's). It approach involves consolidating the strength of PWD's not only by means of organizing them into SHGs but also giving required input and support to ensure the effective functioning of such SHGs for the cause of PWDs by accessing all the resoureces and services to which they are entitled for improving their socio economic status.

Sacred with its collaboration with Rural Development Trust popularly called RDT to work for the cause of PWDs in 7Revenue Mandal in Kurnool District of Andhara Pradesh. The hands of sacred got strengthened with continued Donor partnership of CORDAID, Netherlands. It is 1st Year begin to enter into collaboration with RDT which is one of the biggest voluntary organizations implementing integrated programs of development for the rual poor and needy including PWD's.It is an apportunity for Sacred its experiences with RDT and also get a few insights in its work with RDT to improve its approach and strategy that in turn would contribute for making PWDs as the main actor in the process of their own development. Its work with PWDs in its existing project area is continuing during the reference perriod. Similarly it is carrying out its consultancy services to governmental and non governmental organisation which are working with PWDs
